The clients of this house on a very busy suburban street were tired of walking through a wasteland to get from their car into the house. They wanted just a moment to breathe in some nature and calm before they continued their busy lives. With one being an artist from Canada, who loves admiring and painting Australian native plants, I relished the chance to provide some interest, some calming water and greenery, and (eventually) some protection from the noise of the nearby road. And with their fabulous flair for colour, everything came together so nicely. Another project I’m looking forward to watching as it evolves.
