The original brief for this project was to ‘install some lawn’ in the two levels of this small back yard, which had a west facing alfresco and no afternoon sun protection. With some gentle coxing of the client, the plan was slightly changed, as she realised that not only would she not use the lawn, but that she would appreciate some soft, interesting planting, some variety, and some shade. The end result was somewhat better than two patches of lawn woudl have been!
